Meet Deborah Hudson
Sharing the wonder of creative expression is my purpose in life and I feel so blessed to have been able to help students tap into their creativity during my 35 years of teaching.
Teaching art has opened many doors for me. I’ve taught in craft stores as well as in schools at all levels including TAFE and Atwea College. I’ve judged art events, given demonstrations at shopping centres, been a radio presenter and guest speaker at conferences, and even wrote the craft column for the Newcastle Herald.

I’ve judged art events, given demonstrations at shopping centres, been a radio presenter and guest speaker at conferences, and even wrote the craft column for the Newcastle Herald.
Over the years my students and I have been honoured to have our works shown in different galleries and businesses through the Hunter Valley as well as interstate and overseas.
I believe art is about finding your own creative expression and it’s important for students to know there is no right or wrong way to do things. In my classes the goal is for everyone to creative something unique and original – and exploring the techniques, tools and mediums is an intrinsic part of the artistic journey.
