Learn from business experts like Barrie Wilson
Barrie Wilson came to Atwea College with over 34 years of experience in management and executive positions. He teaches the Certificate II and Certificate III in Business and Retail skill sets, both face-to-face and online. He has a passion for teaching a diverse array of students including those who live with a disability, high-school students and older students wanting to embark on a second or third career path. Barrie believes in giving everyone a great start in whatever career they are pursuing.
Nothing is too much trouble for Barry. He is a pleasure to work with and always positive, looking for ways he can help his students. He provides weekly reports on how his students are progressing and looks for ways to help motivate them if needed. His students say he is a great trainer and always there to assist. Barrie has worked all over NSW for Woolworths and decided on a change of direction in 2018. He chose the field of training as he felt he had something to contribute to students and the ability to do so. After obtaining his Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Barrie has worked for Atwea College since 2019.
Barrie says very much enjoys the interactions with students and helping them gain a greater understanding of the world of business and retail. He loves working with people and the experience of training with Atwea, especially the support he receives.
In 2020 Barrie won an Adult Learners Week Award for his contribution to the Atwea learning community.
