Willkommen! Let’s talk German! Our Beginners’ German course is ideal if you would like to learn a language for the purposes of engaging with everyday situations, travel, or business.

This immersive beginner’s course will introduce you to German culture and language that will give participants the skills to understand and respond to spoken and written German, engage in simple conversations in German, and write simple texts. You will learn basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing in German, learning is supported through popular songs and film in an active social classroom environment. No prior knowledge of German is necessary. Auf Geht's!

Atwea Beginners German 2026 – Weekly Schedule/content
Week 1: Guten Tag!/Hello! (1) Greetings, introductions and goodbyes.
Week 2: Guten Tag!/Hello! (2) Conversing about where you live, come from etc. The numbers.
Week 3: Guten Tag!/Hello! (3) The alphabet. Countries and languages.
Week 4: Friends, colleagues and I (1) Activities and hobbies.
Week 5: Friends, colleagues and I (2) Job, profession, studies and tasks. German clubs.
Week 6: In Hamburg/Travel (1) Sightseeing: Visting and touring a German city.
Week 7: In Hamburg/Travel (2) Transport. Asking and giving directions.
Week 8: In Hamburg/Travel (3) Seasonal activities, traditions, special events. Shopping for food.

Enrolment Confirmations 

To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences. 
 
Please check your confirmation email to ensure you have the correct time, date and location of your course as well as any necessary requirements. There is a room directory located at each venue directing you to your classroom.   
 
Fees and Cancellations 
Course enrolment must be accompanied by payment. We are unable to hold places or accept deposits for Lifestyle courses. Once enrolled, students will receive confirmation by email, which serves as a receipt. 
All courses require a minimum number of enrolments to proceed. In the unlikely event this number is not reached, the course will be cancelled prior to commencement and you will be notified.
