Coming in September 2021
A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for over 40 years is given a fresh rock make-over. What does it really mean to be a Superstar?
Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1970 rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Initially unable to get backing for a stage production, the composers released it as a rock opera album musical. Focusing on the last seven days of Christs life, Drew Pittman’s adaptation stays true to the original text while giving the show a more contemporary feel, with themes from today blended through the show.
Starring some of Newcastle’s best voices, musical direction from Kieran Norman and choreography from CONDA winning choreographer Silvia Flores this is a show not to be missed.
